hello this is part of his coach PRT and today I want to talk about a couple things that they don't teach you in photography school I have done a lot of free consulting sessions I offer 50-minute Consulting's so if you're interested in that of course you can take advantage of that as well and I come across quite a few students of photography that have finished the school that are now out there trying to look for work and they're finding it incredibly difficult to find paying clientele so let me break it to all of you who have never heard about some of the most basic business strategies for one it is a business no matter how creative you are no matter how wonderful your images are at the end of the day the photography business is a business like any other business sales and marketing are two of the most important components of your business if you're not good at that type of stuff you only have three choices you can find our presentation through a gallery you can find an artist representative or you have to learn it yourself and unless you are at a level where you can find representation I get news for you sorry you have to learn how to sales in market there's a great book out there that's called guerrilla marketing and guerrilla sales which is the Bible which I can completely recommend so if you're not sure how to you know sale sell market and negotiate go get the books learn the skills so that you are better in going out there and promoting and selling your business the next thing that you have never learned in photography school is that creativity in itself well while it is absolutely lovely you do have to fill a demand so it's not necessarily only about what you like and what you think looks good it's about can you deliver something that your customer wants and needs now it's not you know when we when we look at some of you know images out there for certain customers we look at it and we go oh gee you know what my photos are so much better but another photographer shot it so apparently this photographer must have delivered exactly what the client wanted otherwise they wouldn't have worked with them so just examine if you're shooting for yourself or if you're shooting actually for your customers because that's what I want you to do and as a last notice is in a couple days on July 21st 2011 I am starting my very first online course of photography business intensive and we are going to be covering marketing and selling negotiating we're looking at the websites the good the bad the ugly I'm going to go through negotiation skills and it's a three week course it's we meet to two times a week and information is in the link right below and I'll teach you everything you need to know to go out there and kick some serious behind so if you're not certain about photography basics or you just need a little bit of a brush up this course is for you we are limited to six people we are almost full we only have two more spots available so if you hear this and it sounds right go ahead and get started and invest in yourself it'll be the best money you've ever invested in your photography career that's it to keep your questions coming and I'll talk to you soon again goodbye
