hmm welcome back to another video my name is sterling I am a professional photographer and director based here in Denver and today we're gonna be talking about three easy ways for you to make an extra three hundred dollars with photography okay that's all I am I am just gonna jump right in here to the first tip here I have three of them for you and a bonus tip at the end that I just thought of that I want to give to you guys as well um the first tip I have for you is to use an app called thumbtack when I first started you doing photography I was looking for different ways to get clients because it's so hard at the beginning and thumbtack was one of the first ways I did that it's a little website you build a profile it's kind of got a portfolio built in and it's got the clients built in so if someone's looking for a photographer in your area then it'll send you the job and you can put a bid on what you would do it for the price and then if the customer likes it like your price likes your work then they hire you and it's a pretty easy way to make money I do this a lot when I was first starting and I highly recommend giving a shot if you haven't tried it before the second tip that I have for you here is shutterstock custom this is a really really awesome website and you should definitely sign up for it if you're starting to get to the professional world this is a website where they have projects big companies come in they say hey we need 40 photos of this product and the in shutterstock custom says okay we'll give me all the specifications ok you need a photographer in Colorado and then let's say year one photographers in Colorado it'll send you up the job you decide if you're interested in me or not and they pay pretty well typically between probably three hundred and seven hundred for 20 photos around that area they pay pretty well they are very specific projects but if you're in – if you're looking to get into the professional world this is a really great way to start the third way and this is pretty important when you're especially when you're just starting out is – is to actually advertise your own work a lot of people when they start they're a photographer they start their career they don't announce it or they don't put it anywhere that they are doing this put it on Facebook let people know you're doing it let people know your prices get your prices out there because without that people aren't going to know where to start so if you're not uncomfortable start cheap do a poor justice 60 bucks do a portrait session 450 bucks but start promoting your own work on your social media a big part of making me money in the photo film world is recommendations and if people don't know that your photographer well then no one can recommend you so you need to make sure your names out there enough and people know what you do now I have a bonus tip here that I'm just gonna throw out here build a website and I don't mean a gallery where it's like your name at the top and 10 photos like build a proper website have some proper copyright make it look professional make it look good these are big okay a lot of people make a website and it's just a name and then it's like some photos they like they're not categorized it's just like a picture of a mountain and then a picture of a bike and then like some photography stuff if you want to get clients then you need to target your stuff toward what kind of clients you want you want portrait photography clients okay put up portraits of portraits if you want brand deals then put up shots of your brands and products if you were looking for all of them categorize and make sure it's cohesive in what you're doing and building on the website if people can't see your work in the field that they're trying to hire you in then you're not gonna get hired up getting started making money in photography at all can be pretty difficult and I wanted to give you guys a couple tips that helped me out when I was first starting so I hope you enjoy that if you guys did follow me on Instagram take a second and keep up with me there and if you're interested I also run a patreon livestream where I talk with you guys answer your questions and figure out what we need to do to get your business to the next level if that's something you're interested in put lip booble down and blue Bing bong click the link below and we'll get that taken care of that is all I have for you guys today I'm trying to keep it short and concise because I'm trying to learn like man I'm putting a lot of effort into YouTube videos and sometimes they just don't do well and I'm like man so I'm trying to learn a little bit and I think it has more to do with like how long people watch videos so if you watch to the end or not so that's what I'm trying to keep this short so you watch to the very end so I should probably stop talking [Applause]
